Day Seven |
Tuesday, July 15th Agenda
1. Fantastic – everyone got a start on their experimental comics. Today is the day to finish them and complete a reflection for it.
2. Again, make a Title Banner (72 dpi 600x200px) and Logo Button (72dpi 150x50) for your website. Think about overall design and color scheme for your site. Check out CSS Zen Garden for ideas.
3. Group critique of work. Make any revisions based on our critique.
4. Make your cartoon say something for your site...such as “thanks for checking out my comic”.

To help get organized for our critique please look up the Elements and Principles of Design on http://artlex.com. All artist use these to create quality work, even if it is unconsciously. How did you use them? |

I think that my comic uses basic colors with a little twist, also the form is very traditional American cartooning. |

For my main comic, it uses several wacky colors and unusual scenes. For my experimental comic, though unfinished because MY BRAIN TURNED INTO MUSH AND REFUSES TO CONTINUE THINKING, I made things like light bulbs and signs have conversations with the players. I also made it so the player can talk to the game characters and THEY CAN talk back. |

I used regular colors and then the dodge tool to make different values of that color. |

I used very basic midtone colors, very flat. |

I used simple colors and weird scenes. My first comic is about go kart panda and serious cat helping the environment, and my experimental comic is about a sand monster in the falling sand game. |

I can see that we all understand the the simple elements of design such as line, color, texture, value, shape, and form. We will focus on the more complex principles in our critique. Thanks for posting. |

My main comic uses many of the same colors and is very strange. For my experimental comic, and is finished no words all your common colors. All I did was use the burn and dodge tool to lighten and to darken. There are not words in my experimental comic only in my main comic. |

Cool vid, I wonder why he inks rough with the Intuos tablet, then refines on the Cintiq... I've used a Cintiq for some digital painting work but it gets rather warm on your hand after a while. It does adjust and rotate like an animation disc for a lot of comfort.. a great tool. |
